Reed in Partnership, part of the Reed group of companies, is one of the largest Welfare to Work providers in the UK. Reed in Partnership was selected as preferred bidder for a new Government initiative being driven by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The campaign will be providing up to 20,000 internship places and 5,000 work experience places for unemployed 18-24 year olds across the UK who have not been to university.
Madgex worked closely with Reed in Partnership to tight deadlines to deliver a highly customised job board which launched just 5 weeks after signing the contract. This was not the first time Madgex have been required to deliver a project so quickly, but due to investment in our core platform we met the challenge.
The Backing Young Britain website was carefully designed to ensure its user interface is intuitive and easy to use, including the ability for users to create accounts, shortlist vacancies, upload a CV and create a profile. The site enables Jobcentre Plus Advisors to interact with customers over the web and offer additional information about available vacancies to job seekers.
The reasoning behind the campaign is a lack of job opportunities within the labour market for young people during the recession. The Backing Young Britain campaign brings together business, public sector organisations and the voluntary sector to provide more opportunities for young people. They ask employers to consider how they can offer opportunities through apprenticeships, work experience or employment. Hundreds of employers, large and small, are backing the campaign.
